Event Planner
EDC Dance Studio, Inc. has this position available to the candidate that has the experience and creditials to fulfill the requirements. Only qualified candidate will be contacted for the position.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Planners develop programs
- Market events
- Budget the event
- Choose locations
- Make travel arrangements
- Arrange entertainment
- Plan menus and choose caterers
- Arrange lodging
- Ensure availability of audio-visual equipment
- Oversee registration of attendees to the events
- This is presently a small organization, planners will be responsible for several of the duties, and in some cases all of these duties.
- Depending on size of the event each task may be assigned to a support staff under the event planner’s supervision.
Requirements: Planners must be able to cope with last minute changes or difficulties to ensure the event runs smoothly and effectively. In general, all planners must be able to develop and work within budgets and organize themselves and others. You must have excellent marketing abilities, as well as above average oral and written communication skills. You will need to know not only about local venues, but also how those compare to competitive facilities and attractions nationwide. Persons interested in this position should be comfortable working with people. Must have a Bachelor's degree and a background in Public Relations or Marketing. You may have to do a great deal of travel to meet with clients and check out locations and vendors. Additionally, the planner will not work standard 9:00-5:00 business hours; you may have to work evenings and weekends to resolve problems. Planners working with international associations may find it beneficial to be multilingual or have local interpreters at their disposal. A Bachelor's degree and a background in Public Relations or Marketing.

EDC Dance Studio is currently seeking college students to work at least 2 days a week for no more than 4 Hrs. a day. This position is great for someone intersted in becoming a party/event planning, sales, promotions and/or Public Relations etc. Qualified candidates will have an opportunity to gain job experience in a fun, fast pace yet comfortable environment, participate in the hottest new dance/fitness classes in New York City, receive commission on classes, parties, events and product sold. You can also receive school credit. We are looking for very well organized, detail oriented and highly motivated individuals that can manage multiple task in a timely fashion. Also you must have strong communication and writing skills. Graphic & Media experience are a plus.
